Basketmouth's wife makes case for Lekki Gardens'MD

  – MD of Lekki Gardens construction company has been arrested in connection with the company’s collapsed building

 – Basketmouth’s wife Elsie Okpocha has revealed that the wrong person is arrested

 – She says Lekki Gardens construction company MD’s best friend used substandard material to build the collapsed structure 

Many reactions have been trailing the Lekki Gardens collapsed building in which over 30 people lost their lives. 

While many have condemned the construction company handling the collapsed building for using substandard materials, Basketmouth’s wife Elsie Okpocha has come out to bail to an extent the MD of Lekki Gardens construction company, Richard Nyong. 

She also revealed how Nyong’s best friend sabotages the effort of the company by using substandard material to construct the building which led to its collapse. Read more of her revealation which she shared on her Instagram timeline below: 

“His name is Richard Nyong, the managing Director of Lekki Gardens, the construction company in charge of the 5-storey building which collapsed on Tuesday…… many of us right now would go with the information d media gives….but then, that is the much they know….the truth some of us know and are very sure of is that Richard’s best friend was put in charge of this said project but he did a very bad job so it was taken away from him and given to another contractor to handle….

This particular building was already marked as defective because of the sub-standard materials that were used Richard had even signed a contract with another company to repair it But it was so unfortunate that the labourers had made the place their home since they had nowhere to live and this was definitely against the company’s policy Labourers were supposed to leave the site at 6pm and resume at 8am, this building collapsed at 3am

 Meanwhile, Magistrate Folashade Botoku of Ebute-Metta chief magistrates court, on March 11 has remanded Richard Nyong, the managing director of Lekki Gardens, and one of the contractors handling the five-storey building that collapsed, Odofin Taiwo Henry, in police custody at Panti, for the next 30 days.
