– He says Buhari must look for a way to cure the illness in the country, as the current economic situation has made Nigerians hungry and angry

 – The cleric says the Edo election is a big indictment on those handling the country’s security Most Rev Emmanuel Chukwuma, the Anglican Arch-Bishop of Enugu Arch-Diocese, has said the change crusade should start with President Muhammadu Buhari. Rev Chukwuma made this known on Friday, September 9 at the funeral service of late Mrs. Janet Elobelu Madu, held at the Christ Church Achi, Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, Diocese of Oji River, Enugu state. 

 Most Rev Emmanuel Chukwuma, Anglican Arch-Bishop of Enugu Arch-Diocese, has said the change crusade should start with Pres Muhammadu Buhari. 

Mrs. Madu who died at 101 years was the mother of Anglican bishop of Oji River diocese, Most Rev Pius Madu. 

According to Rev Chukuwma, President Buhari and the All Progressives Congress must look for a way to cure the illness in the country, as the current economic situation has made Nigerians hungry and angry, Daily Trust reports. Addressing his message directly to one of the guests at the funeral service, Dr. Ben Nwoye, Enugu state chairman of the APC, Chukwuma urged him to pass the message to the APC-led federal government under President Buhari. Chukwuma said: 

“APC used to be a very effective medicine for headache in those days. If this APC can’t cure the illness in Nigeria now, Nigerians will begin to drink codeine. Dr. Nwoye please pass the message to the APC government in Abuja. “Change should begin with Mr. President. Let him pay federal civil servants. Buhari will try and make the change crusade begin with him by paying workers at month end.” 

The cleric also condemned the postponement of the governorship election in Edo state by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for alleged security threat. According to him, the shift is a big indictment on those handling the country’s security. He said: 

“The postponement of the election is a big indictment on the security of the nation. It shows the security men are inefficient and cannot control the security situation of the country.” Rev Chukwuma’s remarks comes barely hours after Rev William Okoye, a top Nigerian cleric warned that more Nigerians will commit suicide because of poverty and hunger, unless drastic actions and measures are quickly put in place The ex-Chaplain of Aso Villa chapel, during a chat with journalists in Abuja, affirmed that Nigeria in presently in a serious problem and fears that the issues at hand may escalate unless something is quickly done to salvage the situation in the country.
